BSI’s guide to understanding REVERSE CHARACTER STEEL HAND STAMPS
REVERSE STAMPS INTENDED USE:
PRYOR Reverse Character hand stamps were specially designed for use by Mold Makers. They have a “sharp faced” character to facilitate leaving a clear, readable mark in the mold. When used to indent characters in a mold, the indented impression left behind in the mold will be a negative, “reverse” impression, so when the mold is used to produce a part, a correct reading raised character will be the result in the molded piece.
REVERSE STAMPS CHARACTERISTICS:
PRYOR Reverse Character hand stamps are made from high quality High-Carbon Tool Steel. Reverse Character hand stamps are hardened to between 58 and 62 Rockwell C scale at the character end of the stamp for an extended, extra-long tool life and Reverse Character hand stamps are tempered to between 32 and 40 Rockwell C scale on the striking end of the stamp to offer maximum safety in use. Each individual stamp is nickel plated for rust prevention and the stamps character end is tightly beveled which assists the user in visually aligning and positioning the character on the surface of the material being marked.
REVERSE STAMPS SIZE AVAILABILITY:
Character size is a measurement of the characters height and several sizes are available including 1/16” (1.5mm), 5/64” (2.0mm), 1/8” (3.0mm), 5/32” (4.0mm), 3/16” (5.0mm), and 1/4” (6.0mm). These characters can be purchased in Letter Sets of 27 pieces, Number Sets of 10 pieces or Combo Sets which include both letters and numbers of 37 pieces.
